Question about Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot A85

I've had my camera for approximately two years. I take good care of it...however, about a month ago I turned it on and no matter what setting I put it on, there are different colored lines moving through a black screen. I have checked the batteries and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Could anyone give me some advice as to what I may be doing wrong or who to contact and how if there is a known problem? Thank you in advance.

Check Canon Technical Support- to see if there is a recall on that model. Otherwise replace the camera

No matter where you purchased it, Canon should honor repair of this under it's warranty (you've only owned it 2 months, it's still under warranty). Recommend contacting Canon repair for your local area, starting your search at WWW.Canon.com.

All I see is vertical scrolling when I turn the camera on to take a picture. It reminds me how tv's use to scroll years ago, and there was no picture.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
