No USB audio device for AP-U70 in WinXP

I have a problem with the yamaha ap-u70 on winxp. i want to record the aux1 connected tape deck on my pc. in the ap-u70 device description it reads that i should select the usb audio device for ap-u70. but there is no usb audio device to select. is this a driver problem? how can i solve this problem??? thanks for any hint. -adrian

It may be that your device is operating in 6 channels mode. You can correct that by pressing the USB button on the AP-U70 until the display says USB_Xch. Then select the right mode (USB_2ch) with the < and > buttons and press the USB button again until is says Xch->2ch. Sometimes you have to disconnect the device from your computer, or you may not be able to select an other mode.

I use the AP-U70 with Vista and even then it works, although the program for making adjustments does not. By telling you this I want to say that the AP-U70 is rather compatible and not one of that always having trouble devices.
