I simply cannot get rid of double printing of some letters. It is happening with some letters when I am printing.
Hi ste, sounds like the printing head, if you use recycled cheap ink i would highly recommend buying original cartridges, but before you do that i want you to go to hp's website and download the latest driver for your printer, uninstall the old one and install the new one, your problem is either hardware which is the cartridges or software in which case i provided a solution let me know how you got on regards

Do not fully comprehend the description do you mean blurred or printed twice overlapping type of thing? The HP Tech support team should want to know about this also www.fixyourownprinter.com.

Not the cart
It is a software problem some like a stutter. Remove the printer software restart the computer and print a test page.
Now this is important
When after installing the printer you are asked to print a test page.
It is the printer doing it from its own built in software- not coming from the computer at all.
So
If it is still a dodgy print you will know it is some weird with the printer and this is some thing tangible you can tell HP support
Like wise if you print a word document[from the computer] and it is doubled ,but the test page is clean- then you will know to look to the computer for the problem

check the casing the ink cartridges are in. under a strong light, see if there is garbage stuck to the case. Clean the contacts on the ink cartridtes with water only.

Quite simply it prints some of the letters partially and overlapping them with the same letters. In other words it is printing something like SS or MM with the second letter overwriting the first one partially. So the first letter is half visible horizontally.
Thanks guys - First I think I will pursue Jackboy's line of investigation which I suspect could be the case and secondly, as atlaskuk2007, suggested - let me tell you I am not using refilled or second hand print cartridges.
In any case i will get back to this notice board once I have exhausted the suggested investigattion. Thanks for your help once again.
Regards
Steve
