Usualy when there is a pop or bang, you can be sure that a component physicaly blew up inside!

The fix is to change the associated circuit board(s), or if possible the parts inlvolved. The cause of failure must also be found.

You local TV service man will most likely not be able to properly service this type of set, unless he is properly trained and equiped for this type of service, has access to all the proper test facilities, service manuals, and spare parts.

I would suggest finding out who the authorized service rep is in your area and send them the set for an estimate.

My plasma tv has just lost it's picture. I do have

There will be a fault in either the Y or Z sustain boards, these are responsible for driving the screen 9hence sound but no picture). The popping sound willhave either been a fuse blowing on the board or another possibility is one of the drive ICs on the buffer board has blown. If so it's best to replace the board.

Unfortunately, that board is the inverter board. And for this model the inverter board is only supplied with the the PDP panel. The panel is quite expensive, here's a link if needed:

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

My LG Plasma TV RU42PX10C

Hi all..i had the same problem with my 42 inch LG
rz42px11. its a faulty zsus board(Z sustain part no 6871QZH033A) the pop
sound was the fuse on the board blowing.not that hard to replace but be careful with the connector ribbons! got my replacement from
https://www.chsinteractive.co.uk/ £150....expensive,but probably cheaper than
calling someone out to fix it.
P.S i tried just to replace the fuse on the board T2AH 250v but it blew,i think the fact the fuse blows means the board is faulty..but you could try.
hope this helps someone.

Sony Flat Panel tv with no Picture

Flat panel TV's typically do not have "bulbs," but rather backlighting.  Plasma displays are especially touchy during movement.  I would suggest checking your warranty status, as it's probably not something you can easily repair.  If you wanted to take on the repair yourself, be careful not to lay down the screen, as it will drastically shorten the life of the Plasma display.  I would start with checking the system boards for possible damage, since you did hear a "click," It was probably a fuse, chip, etc.
