I have sony cybershot DSC-P200 model digital camera. The images in this camera is not open in my laptop. the error comes for (the files are damaged or corrupted). please help me for this issue. I need to see all my images in my laptop. Please tell me what would i do for this, how i can repair my images.
If they are corrupted on the card, you are out of luck. The camera may not have saved them properly.
See if you can review them through the camera. If they appear in the camera, use the USB cable to connect the camera to the PC and copy them that way. If they do not show up in the camera there is nothing you can do at that point.

I don't have a repair manual but I can fix your LCD if you got one. If you don't have LCD, I got one to replace. Let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.
SOURCE: my sony cybershot dsc-p200 lense is stuck.
Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 worked great then the lens stuck in the open position.
Read on this site some one suggested gently manipulating the lens and tapping it then turning it on. It worked!!

Hi Jim,
Have you tried resetting all settings on the camera? On a Sony camera, it is called "initialize". The initialize setting is found by going to the menu, and tabbing down until you find an option called either "reset settings" or "initialize settings" and then confirm it.
Many times that will fix the issue, in case something has either been enabled/disabled on accident, or the software is sticking (which happens from time to time)

Open the camera and clean and dry it out as much as you can. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an camera. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party Camera Repair Services.
Hi,
The LCD screen may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a computer. To play images you have taken on the camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files. I suggest that you transfer the images from the Camera to the computer and check if it works. After transferring the images, get the Memory formatted from the Camera and start capturing new images. The edited images will not get displayed in the Camera again. Please try not to edit the images in the Computer without transferring it.
Thanks.
