Question about SanDisk Sansa E280 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Skipping songs My Sansa e280 has been skipping over songs - for instance, it will finish playing song #103 and skip to song #105. This happens whether I'm using the forward/back buttons to select songs or just selecting the "play all" function. There's no rhyme or reason to which songs don't play; songs that were fine 2 days ago now are being skipped over. Help!

We could try formatting the player and after the format has been complete try updating the firmware of the player. Change the settings fo the player to MSC then connect to your computer, open my computer and right-click the player and choose format remove the tick mark on the quick format and after the format has been completed. Unplug the device and go to the sandisk website and download the firmware update and install it and when it ask you to connect the device hook the plyer and perform the update for the player. Note: It may be the songs on the player are not that properly transferred that why it is skipping and also the player might also have had bad sectors that is why we have formatted the player. Hope this helps.

There is a random mode - check the menu settings to see if it has been activated. Alternatively, you coould have downloaded fixed-term license songs.

Music skipping

hmm. The hard drive itself could be messed up. The hard drive can easily be formatted by right clicking and formatting it. Though I am taking the easy way out here to fix the problem.

Skipping songs

This generally happens when the music is encoded at a low "bitrate", its called clipping. Only solution is to remove the songs from the device. Best of Luck.

My Sansa skips the songs I put on it, what can should I do

I restored settings to default factory settings and has been working and not skipping the songs. Restoring to factory settings does not delete any of your data/songs
