Humidistat is broken: contact points are burned beyond repair. The Haier people said they don't have the part and can't recommend anything. Anyone have an idea what part could be adapted to replace this one?

Re:
A humidistat from a different brand will work, provided it is mounted well & hooked up properly. Make sure the replacement is designed to switch the compressor directly.

E1 error code : Deshumidifier
indicates generally an issue with rh sensor on the
back of the control. However, at this time we would like to gather
further information relating to the application if possible.
You can normally hear a humidistat open and close if you listen closely. Also, the water tank has either a float or pressure switch that will shut it down.
It is not abnormal for ON to show up when you first push the arrow up or arrow down button. If you want to lower the humidity press the arrow down button again, once the ON lights up. The lower you take the percentage the more humidity will be removed.
Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
An E3 error code is a Sensor Shutdown Failure. You will need to contact Haier Customer Support for an explanation on which sensor it is and how to solve the problem.
Have you tested the outlet it's plugged into, to make sure it still has power? If it doesn't, check the circuit breaker panel in you home for a tripped circuit breaker. If there is one, unplug the dehumidifier, before resetting it. Then plug the dehumidifier back in. If the circuit breaker trips again, the problem is within the dehumidifier or the outlet is faulty (i.e. Loose wire, burned wire, broken outlet). If the outlet is not faulty, you should contact Haier America Parts and Repair 877-337-3639.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
hello. If your dehumidifier doesn't seem to run often but the humidity in the room is high, try adjusting the humidistat control on the dehumidifier to a dryer setting. If the dehumidifier seems to run constantly, but there's little or no water in the container, there may be a problem in the refrigeration system. Try cleaning the unit. If that doesn't work, you can't repair the refrigeration system yourself, you need a qualified appliance repair technician to do that.

You can test the humidistat fairly easily, using a volt-ohm meter. Just set the meter to RX1 scale and attach its leads to the humidistat's terminals. Rotate the humidistat's knob as far as it will turn in both directions. If the volt-ohm meter registers zero ohms through only part of the humidistat dial's range, the humidistat is working. If it registers zero through the entire range, it's broken and must be replaced.
Dehumidifier Overflow Cutoff Switch Test-
Using a volt-ohm meter, you can tell if the overflow switch works or not. Clip the leads to the terminals on the switch. Depress the bar or trip lever on the switch. If the meter's needle doesn't show continuity and no continuity as the switch is clicked back and forth, the switch is probably faulty and will need replacement.
