Question about Dakota Dodge RB4 Navigation, CD, AM/FM, with CD Changer Controls
I purchased the dodge rb4 nav-system and it seems that it does not work. i drove my truck over 800 miles and it does not display any directions. I have a 2001 dodge dakota and everything seems to be wired ok for my truck and the radio and cd-player is working great. the only thing that is not working is the gps. the unit searches for the city and state and it seems as through it keeps telling me to use the cd for the west coast. i am living on the east coast. do you know how i can resolve this problem? another problem is the gps calibration seems to always display my truck is going in reverse or backwards and their is no pulses to get the unit functioning. can you shed some need light to my problem. i really appreciate it? Thanks
I have the RB4 GPS system in my 2005 Ram 1500 Laramie and the GPS Cd's are out of date. Is there an updated version? If so, where do I get one. I went to the dealer and they wanted $400 for new CD's.

Sounds like the J1850 bus is not connected to the RB4 radio. The speed sensor info is received thru the bus which alows the nav to function and calibrate itself.Or as I have mentioned before, there may be problems on the NAV pcb. There have been many issues with the nav pcb assy.
