Question about Sony Handycam DCR-DVD201 DVD Camcorder

Problems!!!!!!!!!! Help.. When I turn on my camcorder the LCD is blank. The whole LCD screen is white. I havent dropped it or anything and the viewfinder works fine along with other functions.

    i had the same problem... after an hour of pusing all different buttons I found out it was just the LCD +bright- wheel on the outer rim of the fold out viewfinder.

    I get blank screen (screen is white) though handy cam works normaly throw view finder.

There must be to solutions that can helful for.One is called HING could be damaged and the second one could be the CCD IMAGER. Good Luck

Most usually this problem indicates that the fpc cable to the lcd has failed. Sometimes it is only a loose board connector where this cable is secured. Any way you look at it, it will need to be serviced by a professional. Good luck, magic seadog

Screen is black than white and then turns normal. HELP!
It might be flex internal wire connecting LCD with camcorder. I had problems like this changed it and it's like new.
got it from the repair shop.

Is it white or dark?

If blank white, then the cable needs to be reset if dark then the lcd screen needs to be replaced. They are easy to change and run about 35 dollars for the whole assembly.

KRZR blank screen
does the screen turn white or does it not turn on at all?If it turns white you can try a few things like take the battery out let it sit for 5 minutes then put it back and try it out,or you can open the top housing and find the flex cable connection unplug it plug it back in and try it,If the screen isnt comming on at all you need to check that the flex cable is connected if it is your lcd is defective and will need a new one,or your flex cable is bad,I dont know how you would know what one it was without having another phone to test them in but those are the only options for that scenario,well good luck

Sorry to hear that!
The only thing I would sugest is to pull the battery (and leave it out for 24 hours (or longer)) to try to reset the camera. But I would guess that the LCD stoped working and the white screen you see is the back lit screen mounted behind the LCD.

Sony CCD-V8AF-E Video Camera Good Afternoon, I have a very old CCD-V8AF-E camera and a number of tapes with family movies recorded on them. I want to copy the movies onto a more permanent medium on my computer and to DVD's. The camera has not been used for many years and now when I tried to do the copying, I discovered that the cassette holder will not open when the eject button is pushed. The light above the eject button comes on solid yellow in colour and after a few seconds begins blinking and the cassette holder does not open. There is no tape currently in the camera. I would appreciate it if there is anyone who can give me any ideas on how I can get the cassette holder open. Thanks in advance David Rae.
