I keep getting blank pages even after I request a new print task. Sometimes the printer will pick up several pages at one time, as well. I called tech support after I upgraded my computer to Windows XP because the printer was not recognized by my new system. That problem was resolved and the printer was working fine. I have tried all the suggested trouble shooting solutions in the manual, such as turning off the printer and turning it back on, closing the running programs, unplugging the printer and plugging it back in again and even tried to reinstall the program but my computer said it couldn't perform the task (probably wasn't recognized again). What else can I do? The printer works fine otherwise.
I have windows xp on my current computer and my hp deskjet 630c printer hardware disk only suports windows 95 or 98. I have tried too download from the hp website but i still cannot connect my printer to my computer.

Re:
When you say you get blank pages do you mean the printer goes through the process of printing (i.e. head whizzing back and forth, page advancing one line at atime) but no ink actually reaches the page?
If so, you should try an under head cleaning session - check my previous post here for details: http://www.fixya.com/support/t137335-problem_print_outs_from_printer
If this is not the problem you are experiencing, please give a little more detail be adding a comment to this post.
Also check that there is actually ink in the carts Shake them gently and listen for the sloshing and see if they are heavy enough. This is especially relevant if you use refilled carts. As carts are refilled the capacity is gradually reduced, so you will get less prints per refill and the printer will not realise they are empty.
As far as the paper feed goes, get hold of some platen cleaner and clean the feed roller that grabs the paper and feeds it in as well as the seperator rubber. This will return thier 'grippyness' and help prevent the multi page grab. Also ensure the cork pad is dust free.

often in the Printer properties, there is a tickbox, to feed a blank sheet between print jobs. this is to assist in keeping print jobs seperated on busy printers.
Here is the way to change the setting on a single print job:
Click the Start button
Point to Settings
Point to Printers (Windows 2000) or Printers and Faxes (Windows XP).
Right-click the HP LaserJet driver you plan to use (2420)
Click Properties .
On the Advanced tab, uncheck Separator Page.
Click OK to return to the Advanced tab.
Click OK to save the settings.
Making the change a permanent thing For All print Jobs on this printer:
Click the Start button.
Point to Settings .
Point to Printers (Windows 2000) or Printers and Faxes (Windows XP).
Right-click the HP Printer you want to correct the settings to.
Click Properties .
On the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults .
Change any of the settings on the tabs. These settings become the defaults for the printer.
Click OK to return to the Advanced tab.
Click OK to save the settings and to close the printer driver.
dear mdoris5, First confirm that how often u use ur printer. If u need not take prints everyday then atleast you should switch on ur printer daily, because when the printer switches on it perform a cartridge cleaning task. The cause of the problem might be : 1) Clogged print heads due to no use for long periods. 2) Empty cartridges. Try refilling ur cartridge or use new one to check if u can borrow one.
hi,check your printing setting and then print.
or....
uninstall the printer then install the printer again then printer has default setting and print the paper.
sometimes printer current pages print wich is selected by setting.you must select all the pages.
to change the setting,,,
1-open control panel then open printers and faxes then check seeting.
If the cartridges are old too this may be a problem. When ink gets old it can clog the cartridges. If they are old replace them with new ones. If they are new ones did you peel the protective covering off before you inserted the cartridges?
Hopes this helps
