Question about Sony DCR-PC55E Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I have a sony dcr-pc55e and i am having a problem trying to get the dv tape of my home movies on to my pc i was told to use a firewire card and cable to get the movie on my pc with the best quality results . The thing is that it does go to my pc for a short while and then it says that the camcorder has been disconnected but it has not , i have tried a number of times and it happens every time but never at the same point of the tape , i have also tried different programes and they all do the same thing . I am using a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cable . also the quality that it has saved is not all that great anyway . Please can anyone help me i am pulling my hair out !!! ( PS I HAVE PHONED UP SONY BUT THEY ARE NO HELP , THEY HAVE GIVEN ME LOTS OF PHONE NUMBERS TO CALL BUT NOBODY CAN HELP ME .)
Hi, I was wondering if you are using the AC Adaptor while downloading video? When you are not operating the camera, it will shut off automatically after approximately 5 minutes. This is to save the battery. It can be changed in the Standard Set menu: The item is called A.Shut Off. This can be changed to Never. Otherwise, I would use the AC cable if you aren't already.
