Hi , I purchased a Sanyo TV CLT2054 and I want to use it in my RV (motorhome) which runs on 12 volts when I am on the road without utility. So I would like to have a gadget which plugs in the cigarette lighter (12 volts ) to run my TV , without going through the step down power supply.
Any body knows where I could find either the whole 12 volts plug-in or the parts to make a plug-in without going throught the sept down transformer.

Re: 12 volts plug in for my TV
Sure. These are called power inverters. Here's a link to one that should work.
Make sure you look at the wattage rating of the electronics you wish to run on the inverter and make sure you don't exceed that wattage rating on the inverter. You can get larger inverters but they have to be usually hardwired into the battery system of your vehicle.

Did you bought your replacement AC Adapter on Ebay. well I bought mine on Ebay as well but you know what they're not the exact replacement. I encountered a problem with mine, because of the reverse polarity on the output power. you can fix this though, cut the output wire leading to your TV then connect the white wire with the un-shielded one and to the same on the other wire.
OK you need a volt meter to check the voltage output of your power pack as two things cause this now enough power out the pack to run your unit or the unit has a short both problems will unlight the light so you need to know if the power supply is working right first as it should say like 120 volts AC in and 12 volts DC 1000 ma out so you will need to mesure this with a volt meter. this is a common problem loading the load of the curcuit as in your TV is mor the the power pack is giving out thus shorting out the power pack of any voltage present, as the little LED light your seeing only takes 5 volts at very ittle current to light and dose not repersent the total voltage output of the power pack itself
go to radio shack get a 12 volt 1500ma power supply with I belive it is a N% plug end but any how 800 ma to 1500 ma should run this and the plug end is standard plug with plus 12 volts on the inner side and negitive on the outer case side look at the back of the TV or the old power supply it sould have info on voltags and amprage, and the plug as to inner voltage and outer voltage on the plug any old time radio shack or electronics shop should be able to help you bring in the flat screen if need be as if you know its 12 volts then It wont mater weather you use a 1000ma 1500ma 12 volt ubnaversale power pack as the tv will only use the current needed so more MA is good the only concrn you have is the right mini barrle plug and the right side of +/- voltage on that mini plug being most use + voltage in the inner most circle and - 12 volts on thje outer
I bought one on Ebay and it didn't work because the one they sale on Ebay has a reverse polarity, try fixing this, cut the output wire, the one leading to your TV, then reverse the connection, white to un-shielded wire and do the same on the remaining wire.
