Hi , I purchased a Sanyo TV CLT2054 and I want to use it in my RV (motorhome) which runs on 12 volts when I am on the road without utility. So I would like to have a gadget which plugs in the cigarette lighter (12 volts ) to run my TV , without going through the step down power supply. Any body knows where I could find either the whole 12 volts plug-in or the parts to make a plug-in without going throught the sept down transformer. thanks
Sure. These are called power inverters. Here's a link to one that should work. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=422932&CatId=237 Make sure you look at the wattage rating of the electronics you wish to run on the inverter and make sure you don't exceed that wattage rating on the inverter. You can get larger inverters but they have to be usually hardwired into the battery system of your vehicle.

thanks a lot, but this is exactly what I did not want to go throught the power inverter, since this TV work directly on 12 volts.
After discussing with a local tech, I decided to cut the power line and installed two quick plugs on the line and used a cigarette lighter plug in ,,, it's working fine in the RV (12volts)....or in the house (on the power supply 110v).
again thanks for the info.
Do smart TVS use 220 volts default? Which TV models can be used in other countries without a transformer ?
