When the unit is inserted in the charging base with flashlight switch off, the flashlight flickers (very annoying). Flashlight works normally at other times. Is this normal?
Remove battery form radio on inital charge and charge fully before replacing it.

Return radio to store. Home Depot has a recall on them, took it back with no questions.

It sounds as if the connections in the back of the radio may not be continually connected to the contacts on the charging base. You might want to make sure that the radio is properly loaded in the cradle of the charging stand. The reason why the lights 'flicker' is because if your power goes out, the light on the radio will come on when it detects no power to the charging base. This is a feature to many new emergency radio gadgets. Imagine a storm rolling through your area and the power goes out in the middle of the night. Your Vector radio's LED lights come on so that you aren't searching for the radio in the dark.

I have had the same problem, but it seems to be sporadic. It could go weeks without doing it. I have tried to bend the contacts out on the back of it, and currently, I am in search of a replacement battery. The current one only lasts about 20 min off of the charger, and cranking it doesn't power it for more than about 3 min.
Anyone know of a place to get replacement batteries for this, other than through Vector? I cannot return the radio, as it is a couple yrs old and the receipt is long gone!
I have the same problem with a no-brand LED torch and an USB LED light.
I have tried everything I can think of. Re-flowed all the solder joints and tried to jumper the connection between the lid/switch and the LEDs, but nothing works.
It seems to be a common issue with cheap LED torches, even Maglite ones on Amazon seem to do it.
