Try, unlocking and locking the door with the key, unlock with the key open door closed door, turn your ingnition to the II, turn ing off open door and close lock the door with the key from the driver's side. Hope this helps..
The central locking system will usually attempt to lock all the doors/trunk/fuel flap simultaneously but when it tests the system and discovers a fault it will unlock.
The brain has to have evidence that all doors, etc. are properly closed. The evidence is generally supplied by switches, often buried deep inside the door catches and often even the hood alarm switch is part of the circuit.
Wear, maladjustment or bad wiring (to the door for instance) are fairly common causes...
do they work when using the master switch on the drivers door panel? if only the drivers door unlocks when pressing the button, it may be a personal setting change needed. in this case usually pushing the unlock button on the remote twice will then unlock all doors. if there is only one lock that doesn't work it is most likely the door lock actuator that is at fault or a broken wire in the door opening wiring harness of the door that the lock does not work on.
Apparently your aftermarket system is installed incorrectly. The door locks should have power to them even with the ignition off. Possibly whoever installed your system used a switched power wire to power the system or if the system requires one switched and one always on power line then they have them connected backwards.
Depending on the "brain box" used, this fob can lock/unlock doors, unlock trunk, and remotely start the car. the * button is used for the remote start....OR can be used to arm/disarm a security system. Only way to tell is to try the buttons and see.
Also, some are wired so that first you must hit the door lock button, then the remote start * button. Also may need to push * button twice to get the remote start to engage.
Somewhere - likely under the dash near steering column or ignition switch is the brain box. Give us the model numbers off that box and I can tell you a lot more about what it does.
