Vent fan runs intermittently, starts on and off regularily
I have a brand new Bosch HMV9305 Over-The-Range Microwave and Ventilator. I haven't started using it yet. But for some reason the fan/blower will run (at somewhat slow speed) automatically for maybe 5-10 minutes then stop for a few minutes, and start again. It was supposed to be installed for interior room circulation. I read on the manual that the fan will start will the temperature around the microwave is high, but the temperature is not high. The room is kept at 75 degree.
Re: vent fan runs intermittently, starts on and off...
I read in a different online review that whenever a room is above 70 the vent fan will start automatically for this microwave to cool it down. It is a built in feature and there is no way to turn it off.

Check to see if there's a relay providing power to the fan. If there is, the contacts might be sticking in the closed position. Assuming that this is an over-the-range unit, disconnecting the vent fan completely might not be a good idea as heat/steam from foods cooking on the range would more likely damage the microwave.
Most microwave manufactures do not sell parts to the public because if you open up a microwave oven and don't get it all back together exactly right, you could receive microwave burns or be blinded when you run it. Best to just take it to the recycling place and get a new one. Seriously, these things are extremely dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.
The exhaust fan appears to intake through a louvered vent in the bottom rear of the microwave case and output through a grease filter near the top front center of the case. You may be able to see some vent holes along the top of the case though these might be obscured by the manner in which the microwave was installed. You should be able to pop off the front panel that runs above the door but you'll need to consult the owners manual for specific instuctions.
With all due respect, what are you doing to it? If you use it with nothing in the cavity, that will kill the magnetron otherwise it will last for years and years. Very unusual and Bosch is a well respected name. If there is a probem with the oven, Bosch will replace it so take it up with Bosch.
The HMV9305 has an automatic vent turn-on feature. It senses heat, possibly from the oven or range beneath, and turns on the exhaust fan until temps return to normal. Sometimes this may take 4-5 minutes, which can seem like an eternity of listening to the blower run, but it is a safety feature designed to prevent damage to the microwave from excessive heat generated by the cooktop or oven beneath it.
