Hi,what type of jumpers do you mean? if you want to clear your bios you can use jumpers calls "CLR-MOS" or "CL-ms" or "cms_clr" that it means CLEAR CMOS or CLEAR MOS (stands for mosfet transistors built in mother board eeprom" you can clear it this way: shutdown the pc or laptop find the jumper pull the backup battery up use a screw driver or an iron pin to short the jumpers together(if you dont find the jumpers after pulling up the battery short the battery+- together) wait 10 sec and then pull in the battery after that you have to go to your bios setting and set some data if you dont you may see errors like this in your screen before windows start up: "DMI POOL DATA CHANGED" PRESS F1 TO continue" or something like that; and if you dont know the bios setting ask from experts to do it for you because this setting is too dangerous and may harm your hardware,if you dont know dont touch it, and one more thing: if you mean another jumpers?dont touch it because some mother boards use jumpers for their settings or you may harm your hardware kind regards
Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings are goes to defaults.
Also you can reset its settings with jumper settings.
You can see 1 jumper onmmotherbord near cmos cell.
Read carefully on bord you read there RESET or CLEAR bios.
it has 3 pins.set jumper in 2-3 position then power up .
Then again set to its original position 1-2.
Then all settings defaults.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.
VIA P4XB-M http://www.via.com.tw/download/mainboards/4/11/P4XB-M.pdf 99.0% of motherboards still use PS2 ports. One colored purple for the PS2 keyboard female port, back side of the MB & the other colored light green, female port, back side of the MB PS2 mouse port. By default, most motherboards have the jumper for PS2 keyboard enabled. Location for this two-pin jumper varies from board to board. A USB port looks like this: http://www.rickysays.com/images/usb-port.jpg The PS2 port's are found in the upper left hand corner of this same picture. This next link will show how to connect USB motherboard jumpers including their wire locations. (Standard for most motherboard USB connections).
Hi nrls14, it can get pretty confusing with Gigabyte. Go to page 9 in your manual or Pg 13 if using Adobe Reader. Motherboard layout. If you download the manual which is in pdf format you'll be able to enlarge the manual which will help you to see everything much better. Download manual from here: http://china.giga-byte.com/FileList/Manual/motherboard_manual_7n400pro2_e.pdf This is the English manual. (Downloading from china is a faster site). Find SUR_CEN located between PCI slots 2 & 3 on the motherboard. Than go to pg 32 in manual or pg 36 in pdf. Set the pins SUR_CEN. Set a jumper over pins 1&2 & 5&6. Front Audio Connector, leave a jumper across pin 5&6 & 9&10 (Default). On page 22 in manual, pg 26 pdf. Follow Method1: Instructions. (Test your speaker system). You may need some tweaking & this can be done with the software included on the Gigabyte CD by installing the sound effects manager. Go to page 78 in your manual or pg 82 in pdf. Page 80 in manual, pg 84 in pdf. For six channel 5.1 sound. If you decide to use the Advanced 6 Channel Analog Audio Output Mode (using Audio Combo Kit, Optional Device). Follow the instructions on page 81 in manual or pg 85 in pdf. (Do not let the picture on pg 81 spook you). Pg 81 shows a set of pins not located in-between the two PCI slots. You make this connection by removing the two jumpers on SUR_CEN & plug in the SURROUND-KIT on to SUR_CEN pins. Lastly, both motherboard manuals are the same for the GA-7N400 & the GA-7N400 Pro.
The user's manual can be downloaded here:
ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/manual/socket370/fr31/fr31_a0_eng.zip
The clear CMOS switch according to this manual is located at the bottom right corner of the board.
