MY MOBILITY SCOOTER HAS BEEN WORKING FINE UNTIL THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. WHEN IT HAS DECIDED TO STOP FOR NO APPARANT REASON AND ALSO FEELS SLUGISH WHEN ON THE MOVE. BUT WHEN I SWITCH I T OF THEN ON AGAIN IT WILL GO THE BATTRIES ARE 3 YR OLD AND USED EVERYDAY AND CHARGED EVERYDAY COULD IT BE THIS, AND IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO CHANGE THE FUSES JUST AS A PRECAUTION the warning light on the dash on the scooter are flashing continuous when i go up a hill or on the grass...
Hi. From your description of problems, it sound very likely that your batteries are at fault. There could be other problems causing the above symptoms, but I would definately start by getting the batteries checked at a shop with a PC based battery testing facility. If the batteries pass this test, I would be looking at Brake, Motor or Transaxle problems, as these will all draw from your batteries if not opperating correctly. I would not change any fuses, as these will be fine unless blown. Hope this helps.

Are you sure the FREELEVER is in the right position ? , to test try to push the scooter ?
Battery Low ?

There will definitely be a fuse or thermal cut-out (or two) for the batteries, but those must be OK. Double check wiring to the motor? Was motor or controller very hot?

I would say the throttle pot is slightly out of neutral allowing the scooter to travel slightly when turned on. Try moving the throttle lever slightly in the opposite direction to which the scooter is travelling (i.e. if the scooter moves forward when turned on, press the lever to go backwards, but only a small amount). If the scooter stops and you hear a clicking noise from the back of the scooter (this would be the brake clicking on) then that would be your problem. Would just need a small adjustment but best left to a dealer as it has to be sopt on! Sometimes scooters will not work if the throttle is slightly out but if its only a very small amount out of neutral, it might sometimes work in the manner you have suggested. We have come accross this fault on a few occasions. Hope this helps...
