If ur taking the cover off a microwave "U MUST DISCHARGE BIG CAPACITOR BY SHORTING OUT WITH WELL INSULATED SCREWDRIVER OR PLIERS" fuse will be on power input board where wire enters machine

I think it would be nice to tell you MORE DETAIL... (sorry).

Typically the fuse OPERATES because the magnetron is getting burned out... but HEY fuse is cheap... check out the parts houses below (just that getting an UNDERCABINET down each time can be a SERIOUS PAIN.

THOSE UN-USED parts... (pretty handy).

MOST likely from poor use & abuse...

I watched my sisters grand kids warm "butter pats" in her NEW convection micro-wave. It was VERY short lived...!!

There's A REASON they advise not operating them EMPTY. With care (reading instructions) some actually do get OLD.

I would suspect the power control board which is item #2 on the diagram.

It sounds like the unit may be in demo mode. This is a mode entered usually after a power interruption, and the unit will act like it's on display in a store. Check in the unit's manual to see if there's a way to exit demo mode, but some of the old standards may be cutting its power off again for a few seconds, or holding down something like a stop or clear button for a few seconds.

It may be the line fuse, the oven thermostat, or the magnetron thermostat.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

Accessing some components for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

the fuse is usually mounted inside the unit on the same side as the control panel near the back end where the power cord is.......the cover must be removed to get access to it.

There is always a fuse inside a microwave.Sometime this has only blown due to a surge,and upon replacing, the microwave will continue working.If it is something worse the fuse will continue to blow.In this case it could very well be the transformer,but there are other possible causes as well.(for example the control board or a short.)
