Question about Panasonic KX-TG6021 Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Answering system I just purchased a new 5.8 ghz panasonic phone. I went through the hoops programming it but unfortunately there seems to be a problem with incoming call and the answering machine. I received 2 calls this morning, pick up the phone and the person started to speak but the line went dead. The same person called back and the same thing happened. I can call out without a problem. I also thought I had programmed my answering correctly but that too seems to be not the case. I used my cell phone to call my home phone to check the answering system. My phone rang two or three times but the greeting message never came on and I couldn't record a message. Tell me, please, how can I correct those problems?

It first sounds as if the handset isn't charged properly. Check the battery status first. The manufacture advises to charge the system for approx. 7 hours before any use occurs. Second, make sure that the registration took, when programming the phone originally. I would de-register the handset by: 1 {MENU} i {0}{0}{2} 2 {3}{3}{5} i {OK} 3 Select the handset you want to cancel by pressing the desired handset number ({1} ? {4}). Then re-register by: 1 Handset: {MENU} i {0}{0}{1} 2 Base unit: KX-TG6021/KX-TG6022/ KX-TG6023 Press and hold {LOCATOR} until the IN USE indicator flashes. KX-TG6051/KX-TG6052/ KX-TG6053/KX-TG6054 Press and hold {LOCATOR/ INTERCOM} until the IN USE indicator flashes. LAfter the IN USE indicator starts flashing, the rest of the procedure must be completed within 1 minute. 3 Handset: Press {OK}, then wait until a beep sounds. 4 {OFF} Third, make sure that the display on the handset does not show "SP-Phone" in the display, if it does press the phone icon button. Fourth, Do you currently have voicemail from your phone service provider? If so, the answering machine will not answer. Make sure that the answering machine portion is turned on. Do this by: Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off the answering system. When the answering system is turned on, the ANSWER ON indicator lights. When the answering system is turned off, the ANSWER ON indicator turns off. If there are any further questions or comments, please post here. Please rate this solution through fix-it. Thank you

How to add 6th handset

Hi John.

The full manual for this phone system can be found here 'ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kxtg7731_mul_om.pdf ' ( I can't put in a live link since Fixya doesn't seem to like ftp addresses.) At any rate, go to page 42 and it goes over how to pair a phone to the base unit (though it does mention other instructions that will come with the additional phones.)

Hoping that helps!

New issue after a few years of good service, very heavy static on all phones in the system. It is not the DSL filter, as i tried a new one.

Is it possible that the DSL line is filtered outside or the phone jack is defective? Has anything changed recently? Try isolating the DECT 6.0 phone system. Otherwise, consider replacing it with a 5.8 GHz system. I have a the same system (the Panasonic KX-TGA402N -- the three pack, a old 900 MHz cordless answering phone, several Bluetooth devices, and a 2.4 GHz wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2.) I have no noise problem. If you can't determine the source of the interference, I assume you already replaced the phone system.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

If you are subscribed to Caller ID from your phone company, the unit's date and time setting will be automatically adjusted when caller information is received. Unfortunately not. Once it's gone, it's gone. These phones were not designed to hold onto things the way a computer hard drive would.

Multiple Telephone System Compatibility Issues

I most cases it should not matter that you have different phones to 1 phone line. You should make sure that all the phones are running off the main feed box for your property and not off each other. Check that all the wires are connected in each port and that the phone line running between the phone itself and the feed box does not exceed 50 feet because this can cause the phone to echo or not work at all.
