See my other support issue regarding a simillar problem: http://www.fixya.com/support/t155367-red_line Since this is a row of dead pixels and the TV is under warranty, you need to either contact the manufacturer or even exchange it at the retailer you purchased it from.

Akai tv/dvd combo LCT3201ad 32" auto-shutoff or turns off after 3-5 seconds after being turned on.

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

Akai 32" wide screen lcd tv/dvd combo LCT3201AD

This may be an instance were the idea was great but the execution wasn't thought out. I've heard of several related problems that may be related. Both the TV and the DVD player tend to produce heat, not in great abundance, but together a sizable amount of heat. The power supply may have been ample for the TV at first but with the addition of the DVD player was not able to handle the extra load. If still under warranty you're all set. If not you might call Akai and see what they might be able to do for you.

Tramaine, I would suggest a new PSU. I have used ShopJimmy.com in the past with great success. Here is a link to the part you need on their site. Hope that helps! TeeVeeMan2

I have an Akai LCT3201AD TV which works fine for about half an hour and then the screen will go dark. But I am still able to hear the sound. Any ideas?

Hi, your TFT tv has a problem on the video section (video card ) the processor is over heating or has  lick age   needs cooling down for it to work well , Technician should improvise  the cooling system of the processor .
I Suggest  a  12 volts fan addition on  the video card processor to cool it .

good luck

Panel buttons and remote controls are both erratic

Problem seems in panel board having bad switches. You probably need to replace the (control) panle board. Check out this Weblink having info for Akai TV parts.

This is not a Samsung/Akai tv, but it is a cheap Chinese "counterfeit" tv. Here is the makers' info:
