Question about Reddy Heater-30-55,000 BTU Variable
Heater was in storage brought out filters cleaned and new fuel installed.Heater ran for 1 tank of fuel over 2-3 days and then started to malfunction.Malfunction started with shutting off after running for 4-5 minutes when unplugged and reset would start and run less than 1 minute. That is where we are now,I bought this heater new and it did this same thing shortly after being put into service That is why it was in storage. It has had less than 4 tanks of fuel since it was new out of the box
the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

Re: Reddy Heater "Won't Stay Running"
Old Fuel? Added a Can of Fuel Booster? Used Starter Fluid?
Spark Plug or Igniter?
Gas, Propane, or Kerosene?

Make sure that the thermocouple is well into the flame. Check to make sure the other end is secure into the gas valve. Check for any poor connection both gas and electric. If the LP cylinder is icing up, it is a vaporizing problem and the heater is sucking the available gas out of the cylinder faster than it can vaporize. You will need a larger cylinder.

Sounds like a thermostat problem causing it to run for short periods of time. Check your thermostat first you most likely find the problem there.
