Scanner I keep getting the message 'scanner error'. I'm unable to scan or photocopy anythingI've referred to epson website and the manual, all they tell me is to call the technical help line. anyone else had similar problems

If the unit is in warranty, get Epson out to it. If not check the simple things like making sure the head lock is not on. Look to see if the scanner head starts to move at all when you power up the unit. If the head does not move at all or makes an unusual noise, chances are the unit is complaining that the head is stuck or requires too much effort to move it. Other possibilities include a communication error between scanner and main board of the SPC or SPC and your computer - indicates broken connection or bad USB cable.
