HP psc 950 Printer error message incorrect black cartridge

Hello,

I disagree with a driver issue at this point. The printer wants to align the ink thus this has nothing to do with the software layer of the operating system. However if you purchased compatible ink but it says its the wrong ink you would need to visit Hp.com and check for any firmware software to update the printer.

Many cases people just purchase the wrong version ink witch would cause the error. I would not recommend refilling the 15 cartridge, your better off just purchasing a new number 15.

Please check HP.com for any firmware updates for your printer.
Please purchase another 15 cartridge then re run the align function again.

If all steps fail you might have a issue with the print head or nozzle, witch you better off just purchasing a new all in one Hp trow away.

All in one printers in my humble opinion if they cost under $200 bucks they don't last these days. Real good printers are over $200 and carry more then 1 year parts and labor such as Epson.

you can try by cleaning the copper contacts on the cart .. and if it works fine with the old cart i.e if it doesnt gives any error with the old ones then possibly the problem might be with the new cart..

The Ink used is not compatible with the HP model kindly remove the ink and buy another on that is what will solve the problem

Buy a new HP cartridge, 3rd party cartidges for HP machines have substantially lower reliability

try cleaning the cart. contacts with alchol and a q-tip, let it dry then replace the cart and see what happens.you may have a bad cartridge or a broken trace on the contacts on the printer or cartridge.

uninstall and reinstall printer and make sure u follow the promp and put the right cartridge in the right spot....black and color....2 different chambers

Take it back to office depot and get a real HP one.

According to the HP website, the correct cartridge for the HP PSC950 is HP15 or HP78. Comes in black only or tri-color.

Just replace the cartridge.
