Humming noise from tv

I have replaced the lamp and fan on my tv within the last 2 weeks.
after repalcing the fan the tv seemed to be fine, but the next day after the fan repalcement I have a humming noise. It seems to get louder the longer the tv is on. could this be the color wheel. the tv is a samsung dlp model hlp5063wx/xaa

Yes a humming noise on that model is usually related to the color wheel It will get progressively louder

    Its very common for the fan and the color wheel to go out close to each other as they are the only two fast moving parts in the set that have bearings so its normal for them to wear out around the same time. The lamp just most likely wore out.

If its a DLP with a high pitched or even fan like sound it is the color wheel--Mitsubishi does not sell them as a part---you would have to replace the entire light engine (expensive and may not be available any more on a older set) .

Noise from tv
I had the same problem with a 5065. I purchased and installed a new color wheel and that solved the noise problem. The color wheel has a bearing that gets "dry", and when it fails it does sound like a fan bearing.

I believe it is the color wheel. The motor might be going bad or it has dirt or dust in it.
