Xbox 360's disk tray will not open

The XBox 360 is a wonderful video game console, however, with heavy usage, the laser (and/or other components in the drive) will eventually burn out.

The first signs of the laser starting to burn out is that your game will start freezing during game play. Eventually the games will stop reading altogether and you will get an "OPEN TRAY" message when you put a disc in and close the tray. What this means is that the XBox 360 thinks that there is no disc in the system.

Xbox 360's disk drive is starting to fail.Knocking on the top of the Xbox (when its on its side) while loading a game cansometimes get it to work, but at some point you will need to have your Xbox repaired by Microsoft or replace it.

If it won't play any games it might be the laser that reads the disk. I would suggest getting it checked out somewhere.

This means that either the lens inside it is scratched or dirty.(Some kind of compressed air can might work). Or the disk is scratched..;-; Damn 360s..

in that x-box the supported file may be did not installed properly or it will ask the required disk inside in your dvd to console the games

when i put a game in the xbox 360 it keeps on saying clean the disk whith a soft cloth

yea what i did was put a fan infront of it blowing into the holes on the xbox 360 to keep it cool and it worked.
Just try to look after your xbox 360 like clean of the dust, keep it cool, don't put it in a spot that it will heat up quick, don't play for to long like 5-6 hours straight and don't get it chipped. Do this and i am 99.99% sure your xbox 360 will be fine.

Try opening the disk tray with the 360 off. Push a paper clip into 1 of these holes in your 360. It will pop the tray out. Grab the tray pull it out all the way. Put a game in, leave it open! Then turn your 360 on see if it boots the game.

The motor that opens the drive tray could be bad or there could be something stuck in the gears. You may have to take the Xbox apart and pull out the drive and then take it apart to see if there is anything stuck in there.
