2007 version running SLOW!!

I just upgraded from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007 on an Inspiron 9400 with 2GB of RAM and performance REALLY took a dive. Just to resize a column, I can just about count to 10. Is this because of some plug-ins? Anyone think of anything else it could be? I'd hate to re-install 2003 =( Thanks!

Are you trying to open a .xls file instead of an .xlsx file? Xlsx is the excel 2007 file format. Another cause could be a lack of free space on your hard drive. Uninstalling the 2003 version or defragging could do it. One last question: XP or Vista? I find Office 2007 works better with Vista. Good Luck! ---- JG

My worksheet has a lot of pages visible and so my columns and rows are very small..How can i manage this?

The number of pages you have is not related to the size of the columns and rows. You can set those to any size you wish.
By "a lot of pages" do you mean there are many colums or many tabs?
If you have lots of columns, just resize them to a good size. Each tab acts like a separate sheet and the columns and rows can be sized independently of the others.
So, right-click on the column letters and choose the column size you want.
Right-click on the row numbers and do the same for row height.

Can I upgrade the ram in my Inspiron 531s from PC-5300 to PC-6400?

Dell Pc's can sometimes be quite picky as to type of ram. Consult you manual or download one off the net from Dell sight.

Always match ram including branding to avoid performance probs.

Im trying to fix up my wife's Dell Inspiron B130 instead of buying a new computer. what is the best processor, and video card upgrade i can do?

You don't want to upgrade the cpu. As for the video card it can't be changed as its build into the laptop motherboard.

I would highly recommend that you instead upgrade the ram memory on the laptop since it will give you a bigger performance increase than a new cpu or video card.

The machine only has 256MB of ram, get atleast 512MB or 1024 /1gb of ram and it will work much better.

Enter a valid file

Be sure the Excel format/version you are uploading is what's expected (2003,2007, etc.). Further, your naming convention of the file may not be valid. See your classes uploading specifications and be sure you're file is up to par!

Getting access to bios in Dell Inspiron 1300

No, The amount of RAM the integrated video uses is dynamically adjusted depending on the loading of the video and the total amount of RAM installed.

If less than 512 MB RAM, the video is limited to 64MB, 512 to 2 GB max video RAM is 128 MB.

If you want to upgrade RAM to improve performance, check the link below:
