Brand new Waste King "Quick & Hot Instant 190 degree hot water dispenser. Properly installed unit does not provide hot water. Water lines are correct. Power source is correct. Have followed instructions for automatic heating unit reset procedure. After installing the unit, filling the tank, checking for leaks, running cold water through the unit, and finally plugging the unit in and waiting the recommended time for the water to heat up, cold water is the result. Do I have a factory defective unit or is there some trick that the instructions do not reveal? Help!

I would contact the Anaheim Manufacturing Company, that makes the Waste King Quick water heater. You can also go on-line @ www.wasteking.com and check out their site for a solution.

SOURCE: Instant hot water dispenser does not heat water.

I had the exact same problem. I even replaced the first unit with a second unit...because I was sure I hooked everything up correctly. Then I called their support line and and felt very stupid. They asked one question "are you plugging in the Quick&Hot into the same electrical outlet as the garbage disposal"?. I said yes..and the garbage disposal works fine (thinking that this indicates a good electrical outlet). She then said "That outlet works off of a switch so no electricity is getting to the Quick&Hot until the disposal is turned on). Gosh darn it...that made total sense. I then tested this out by plugging an extension cord into a different outlet and it worked fine. Boy...do I feel stupid. Hope this helps.

Waste king 1001 disposer is jammed and won't rotate from inside with a broom handle. Do I need to take it apart to free it up?

Should be a place on the bottom of the unit to insert a hex or allen key to turn it to break it free... if its jammed. Make sure power is off/ disconnected prior to performing this task.

Quick and hot ah-780 smells like wires burning, unpluged it and smell left in about two days, can this be fixed?

Your heating element was over-heating and was a fire hazard at this point. I have the same unit, same problem. If on "High" the heating element will over heat and melt the connectors. If left too long can cause a fire. There are other's with the exact same issue.

This was an old post, but I replied to help any new individuals searching for similar problems. (May 2022)

5 year old Waste King AH-780-UL Quick&Hot Instant Hot Water Dispenser produces white residue in the dispensed hot water. What is causing this; what remedies are recommended? i took out faucet and the...

well the tank is made of brass and copper. That takes away that it is the unit. It sounds like lime buildup. Now what does happen as water goes into the tank and heats up lime will remain in the tank. Then as time goes buy it then starts to get to heavy and relesase itself and then the clog effect it taking place.

the best thing you can do now is reverse flow water into the tank and wash it out, its call beack washing. Yu can buy some products to put in at first to help break it down and then you get ore out.

With the new whole house units they now install a vakve set that has two way valves so you can backwash the tanks and stay ontop of the lime.

You must be asking where does the linme come from, well it starts at the well where the water department gets there water. then it goes into a filtering system and they use a lime to act as the filter agent then it heads out to the system and coats the pipes all along the way. I have cut 16 inch pipe and there was solid inch of lime caked inside.

I tell many people if yuo looking inside the water system yo would never drink the water. You might want to think about getting a whole house filter system to slow down the kime that geets in.

Thanks so much be safe in all that you do.

Water leaking from bottom of quick and hot dispenser only 18 mos old

I had the same problem. There is a 2 piece metal tank inside. The top and bottom of the tank are connected with screws & nuts, and there is a rubber o-ring between the two pieces. The grove for this o-ring is very shallow and it doesn't fit tightly, increasing the probability of misalignment during the assembly process. I was unable to fix the leak, IMHO the grove is too shallow and the o-ring is not thick enough. I decided it was poorly designed & trashed the unit.

New Westbrass water dispenser does not have the lines marked "red" or "blue" as described in the directions.

This faucet is the hot only version so it has two copper lines and one Santoprene rubber line. The copper line directly under the handle is the inlet from the wall - the second copper line attaches to the hot water tank by the corner. The Santoprene line attaches to the middle of the hot water tank. This faucet cannot be installed without the hot water tank.

Slow leak drips from bottom of 4 year old model

You can probably repair this by removing the fittings and replacing any plastic compression rings with new ones. Everything else can be cleaned with grade "0000" steel wool. This will get rid of any deposits without damaging the surfaces. ! or @ careful wraps of Teflon Tape to the MALE threads will help get a good seal.
