Open the cover where the original feeds in, and check the little glass and see if there is any white out or dirt, ink. Clean it off and try it again!

Brother mfc-7840w won't receive fax

The first thing that I would try multiple people to ask them to fax you.Sometimes the 2 machines don't "sync".This is a toll free fax test number that I always use to check my machines..1-888-473-2963.Just write the words "FAX TEST" in large letters on a blank sheet of paper..fax it to that number...leave the line open...you should get a fax back in about a minute. If you get a fax back...your machine is fine...let me know if this was helpful....thanks.

Attempting to FAX...ErrorCode OxAF8D...cannot find this code in manual.

Where do you initiate faxing - from your computer or using the printer operator panel?
Try the following steps to determine what is causing this problem:
  1. Disconnect the printer from the phone line from the wall.
  2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  3. When the printer turns on, try to make a copy or print from your computer to verify that the printer is working normally without connecting to the fax line.
  4. If copying or printing from computer is working properly, then connect it to the fax line.
  5. Try to send a fax from the printer operator panel.
  6. Try to send a fax from your computer. If error appears, try to update your printer software by inserting the printer's installation disc into your computer hard drive.
I hope this helps. Please keep me posted.

IntelliFax 4100 suddenly slow to print

If the dial tone sounds NOISY or SCRATCHY there probably is a phone line problem. Try changing the phone cord first. Are you using DSL phone service?

You have a very reliable fax machine.

Faxing

You need Option, AR-FX7 (FAX) installed, real easy to figure out, look at the side, if you see a telephone line, with line and telephone connections (not the Network connection) then you have a fax.
Next your arm237 will also need to be able to print from the nextwork.. if this is all together..
you will need a driver called, PC to Fax for the AR-M237.
which you can find at www.sharpusa.com

Then you will have to set up the computer in the printer folder to PC to Fax.

I cant print with my lexmark printer, it is a type x2480 every time i go to print it wants me to set up a fax line please help me

Check your printer properties to make sure it is set to print using the proper port. If it is set to 'print to fax' it will attempt to install a fax line every time you try to print. It should be set to your LPT (printer) port or your USB port, depending on how you have it connected to your computer.
