Yes, you can upgrade to 120 GB. Here is an installation guide: http://www.bixnet.com/hadringuh2.html Make sure you purchase a laptop hard drive; they are different than desktop hard drives. A 2.5" one will work. Don't buy it from the site with the installation guide, however. You can get them cheaper from Tigerdirect.com.

I want to upgrade my hard disc.My compaq presario c700 series model no-c738tu,S/N-cnd7492jkf.but i dont know how much that is supported.plz reply

You should be able to put in almost any laptop SATA hard drive in the machine. Depending on your OS, you may have to partition the drive in order to make best use of the larger types.

I have a compaq presario V6105NR and it currently has a 2.5 inch 5200 RPM 100GB hard drive, i am looking to upgrade to a 7200 RPM 320GB internal drive and all i wanted to know was if my system will support...

Apparently the HP notebook model 441424-001 has a 200 GB HDD in it, I couldn't locate any specifications to what HDD size is the maximum supported by the BIOS of this laptop. I would say you are safe with anything under 500 GB.

On the HP website there's only information about RAM upgrade: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3250961&

How do i remove my compaq presario 2200's hard drive?

The Compaq Presario line is one of the longest-running series of computers, originating in 1993 and remaining in production even after the purchase of Compaq by HP. Because of this, many Compaq Presario desktops have required that some of their parts be upgraded or replaced because of the wear that they have received over years of standard use. One of the more commonly replaced Presario desktop components is the hard drives, especially given how much hard drivemag-glass_10x10.gif storage capacity has increased since the Compaq Presario line was introduced. Replacing a hard drive in a Compaq Presario desktop isn't difficult, and can usually be done in a matter of minutes even for users who aren't familiar with computer upgrades.
structions
  1. Step 1Remove the screws holding the left side panel of the computer on, then slide the panel back to remove it. Set both the panel and the screws aside so that you can put the panel back in place once the hard drive has been replaced.
  2. Step 2Unplug the ATA (wide, flat and usually gray) or SATA (thicker, thin and red) data cable and the power cable from the back of the hard drive that is currently in the Compaq Presario. Move the cables so that they will be out of the way, but make sure that they will still be easily accessible to you so that you can plug them into the new hard drive.

Error loading operating system

If you take a hard drive for one computer to another the windows wil have to be reinstalled as windows looks at the hardware configuation and if it doesn not match, will not run. If the 20 gb hard is working , reinstall it then using backup software back it up to another hard drive. That will work. Personally I use" Acronis true home" software to change a hard drive but their  are other  wil also work. Some  backup and transfer softwware even come with the replacment hard drives.

Upgrading Hard drive of Compaq Presario v3018TU

I am afraid you cannot use 250gb hard drive on the notebook. Check the following service manual for hard drive specifications and supported hard drives with part numbers:
