Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 Digital Camera

Konica Minolta Dimage x1 solarizes all pictures so that they appear as negatives

I just bought a refurbished Konica Minolta Dimage x1, and every time that you turn it on, everything in the screen appears solarized or like you're looking at a negative. I mess with the settings, and eventually it'll change to normal for a couple pictures, but then when you turn it on and then off again, it goes back to solarized. Why? I'm hoping it's just a simple change in the settings and not something majorly wrong with the camara. Any suggestions??

Unable to use card

What size card is it? You should go to Konica Minolta USA Web-Site and look up your camera under discontinued products to see what the largest card your camera can handle as you may have a card that is to large for your camera format ....

Mac OS X Leopard & Dimage Scan Elite II

Forget about the Minolta software. It's buggy at best with OS X. Use VueScan instead. A free trial is available so you can test it before you commit to buying it.

DARK PICTURES

I am afraid the shutter is faulty, which means it does not get enough light from the image, however it will still print the image but not in natural light, battery is not an issue here, you can try changing new battery but i don't think the image will change, the bottom line is the camera is faulty and tell the seller for refund if possible.

My Dimage X1 is stuck open

Hi, you may have tried this already, but if you haven't, it worked for me. I was just checking out your posting as I have been having what sounds like the exact same problem as you: shutter remains open, can't do anything with the camera when it is not on the craddle and when it is on the craddle, the only thing I can do is flip through pictures I have taken previously. I was about to report the same problem as you, then decided to take out the battery, clean it a bit, put it back and now it is working again! For me it stopped working after having used it in humid conditions, so maybe it was a condensation problem... give it try if you haven't.

Konica minolta dimage x1

Of course this problem can be fixed but only temporarily..This is the main problem with LCD screen displays.Either you replace the screen and use it for the time being or sell it off before the liquid leaks out completely.
