Try turning the temp setting to '0' pull the wall plug out and leave for 2 - 3 hours with door open. Plug in switch on and set temp to max. close door and leave to cool. This should work.

SOURCE: Freezer left open and now won't work

Try to unplug the unit from the wall and let it sit for a few minutes then plug back in. May reset the door alarm lock out. Also, moisture in the air can be drawn in and freeze up the whole thing. That means turning it off with doors open for about 36 hours... Moisture is a killer in a freezer, freezes and blocks up every air circulation vent, etc.

SOURCE: refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

SOURCE: Sharp SJ-42-WH self-defrosting fridge. Freezer

I recently had exactly the same problme with this model refrigerator. I found the problem to be the defrost timer. It is located behind the panel on the back of the refrigerator where the mains cord is located, you will need to replace it with the exact same model. I am in Australia and managed to find the exact part on ebay cheaply from a local appliance parts supplier, any appliance parts supplier that deals in Sharp refrigerators should be able to help you.

You will have to defrost the refrigerator overnight again before doing this repair.

Of course there are a couple of other components that could cause this problem, you can acutally check to see if the defrost time is moving by taking note of it's current position and then checking it every thirty minutes or so. If it does not move then it could be faulty, make sure also that power is getting to the timer as well.

When a refrigerator door is left open the freezer will continue to run to keep it cold and since it can't cool an open area it will freeze up on the inside, to resolve this you will need to unplug the fridge and open the freezer door and allow the freezer to thaw completely, once it is thawed you can plug it back in and everything should go back to normal after a 24 hour period

Left the freezer door open all night and morning noticed it in the afternoon. Thawed it and now the freezer works fine but the fridge doesn't cool

these fridge freezers have a damper flap which means your fridge will not cool until everything in the freezer is frozen hard again this may take up to two days depending how much you have in your freezer

Left the fridge door slightly open last night and fridge turned off. How do I turn it back on? Freezer is fine

1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.
let me know if this works.

Bosch classixx fridge freezer. Freezer working fine, fridge not reaching a decent cool temperature. slighlty cool only.

Defrost fridge, remove product from freezer and store temporarily in another freezer, defrost at least o/night, then try again.
