Fingerprint reader working but not showing image

From the description it is a software problem, If you were sticking things in the scanner bar that would not help and it will prevent the laptop from working.

The lock is sounding off like an alarm when we close the door to leave. What does this mean?

I downloaded the PDF file for this lock to find out about the beeps. I had to use Internet Explorer; Firefox wouldn't work. This is what I found:
Single, Short Beep - Indicates that any operations sequence has
begun OR that the door has been successfully locked or unlocked
OR that the sliding cover has been left open for more than ten
seconds.
Single, Long Beep - Indicates that programming operation was
successful
Short, Double Beep - Indicates that individual fingerprint user
deletion sequence has begun.
Long Double Beep - Indicates that Delete All programming was
successful
Four Beeps - Indicates unsuccessful enrollment/unsuccessful
verification attempt OR BioAxxis® BD1 was improperly installed
(see Installation Guide).
Six, Short Beeps - Low battery alert, change batteries

The link to download this file is here:
http://www.axxisbiometrics.com/images/upload/File/pdfs/BD1_Complete_User_Manual.pdf

This is a PFD file, requiring that you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to view it.

This is a link to AxxisBiometrics webpage, which has a toll-free help number blasted across it, if all else fails:
http://www.axxisbiometrics.com/

For a $250 lock, if you the beep codes I supplied you doesn't answer your question, I wouldn't hesitate to call them up. Good luck!

Fingerprint reader stopped working

You may need to download new drivers for it. Also position and if there is anything on it that might cause a film over ie moist fingers, grease, oil ect. will cause an issue. Fingerprint readers are notoriusly fickle.

My fingerprint reader won't work. When I set it up it takes my fingerprint three times without a problem. When I'm done inputing the fingerprint and finish it asks for one more to...? At that point I get a...

if this is a reader that plugs into a usb port there are a few things that are problematic with them. They use a suspension that is very sensitive to heat if you leave your reader in the usb port the power from the port causes it to heat up and fail. The other issue is the speed of the port, Most software uses a redundancy software that verifies the image by what they call checksum points. If the speed of the port is to slow this will cause a misread. When not in use don't leave it in the port remove it and keep it cool. Good luck.. Be mucho Blessed..Mark
