Here's a few things to try :

1. Blow it out with compressed air blower .especially the rollers and the paper feed area make sure there are no bits of paper or dust in the paper feed area and in the front access area that could be causing the jam.

2. Verify that the cartridge carriage moves to the service area when the front door is opened (as if to change tanks)

3. Verify that the timing belt, drive belt, gearing and rollers all look normal.

4. With the computer off, unplug the printer's power cord and USB cord for about 3-5 min

after plug it back if the problem still persists then move to the next step
6. Completely uninstall the printer's driver and software. Then reinstall the printer's drivers only.

Retry after each step.hope this helps

examine all rollers as the printer starts ,there must be some stuck on the rollers check all the rollers properly and try moving them manually by hand and observe,if they all moving then use a sand paper to put in between the rollers move them to give it a rough edge incase the rollers are worn out

Canon mx850 Error code 6A00

Hello thank you for using FixYa.

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon Pixma MX850 Printer would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly, where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you will find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

Canon pixma 3100 keeps saying load paper and won't print

If you have paper in the loading tray and it keeps giving you out of paper message then the sensor by the loading hopper is not working and would need to be replaced.

9 times out of ten though you might want to clean the printer and make sure the hopper is not just jammed this happens when you put too much paper in there at one given time.

thanks

Says I have a paper jam when there is none

Hi,
Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure that you have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

Clear Paper Jam error -- but there is no paper jam!

Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...
