I took a flashlight an looked closely into tv ,I can see a faint picture under the black screen. tv just suddenly whent black. Its a digital lifestyles 42" lcd HD. It would buzz three or four times before coming on.
Same thing with me!! Ive had this tv 2years.. i was sent out a replacement for the previous one the year b/f.. that one was giving me trouble also.. the warranty has expired on this one.. i purchase from hsn also.. this tv is ****.. it can't even be fixed in a tv relpair shop!!
I've had the same problem. Usually, if I turn the TV off and then back on again, it's fine.
If you get some pictures the problem is most likely a bad tuner, as when directly connected a
video source to the RF (Cable Coax) connector.
Try using an s-video cord instead.
If you never get any picturethe problem is related to the power supply, more precisely, the SMPS output
is just a bit high causing the microprocessor to go into protection
mode cutting off the horizontal oscillation, but as sound has a
different power source from the SMPS, it will work without any problem.
You will have to get to a qualified sercive engineer to fix this
problem.

I have had my Lifestyles TV for 1 year in March which I purchased from HSN... Now all of a sudden it turns on but no picture / sound. ?? Any one have the schematics on this TV ? Maybe I can fix the problem myself.. ?? I called the company and they actually laughed and pretty much said " oh well " How many of you are having the same problems ? I think a class action suit is in order here. The company should stand behind their product . This is an outrage .
I have a Digital Lifestyles 37 in. that I got a year and a half ago. The picture went out on it and I called the company and they were NO help. They said that there was nothing they could do. VERY FRUSTRATING!
I've had this same problem. Sound no picture, Yes I feel the same way I do beleave that a class action suite is in order. The young man that I spoke with said that lots of people are having the same problem and there is nothing that they can do!!! who has 600.00 to give away!!!! Please let me know....I even called HSN and they told me that they have nothing to do about this product they just sell it they don't make the TV's.
I have the same problem, i got my tv in march of last year on hsn, and i was told the same nonsense when i contacted hn and the company. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. my next step is to file suit this has to be a defect if there is more that one person and that makes digital lifestyles responsible.
We purchased our 37 inch Digital Lifestyles tv from HSN about a year ago. Same problem as everyone else - sound works but no picture. Will a TV service tech be able to solve this problem? Or should I just buy a new TV? This is a joke!
