I have a new Igb xd card for my olympus c750 but when i put it in the camera it requests i format the card. when i do this it says faulty card but this is the third card i have tried
The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

According to user manjual, Olympus C750 accepts XD cards up to 256mb only, But according to info made availble by Olympus it can take up to 512 mb cards.
I have never tried my self using othre than 128 mb card, except once I tried to use 1 gb card and it reported error saying 'cannot format'.
I bleieve Olympus hasn't made attempts to make availble a firmware upgrade as the camera doesnt have ne more etramemory to accept updates.
If you like the camera and XD cards then I would use the USB cable to download the photos from the camera. When you plug the USB cale into the camera and then into the computer, the computer should recognize the camera and set it up as another disk drive. Copy or move the pictures from the card to your Photo location. Use the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray to disconnect the camera and your done. The camera can format the XD card and the computer can read it through the camera.

You should "format" the card while it is in your camera. This should get it properly formatted so your camera will read it. Be sure the card is not locked (write protected) too!
