Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60" Rear Projection HDTV
I had the same problem with my SONY TV shutting down and the green power light blinking 35-38 times before the set came back on. My RED Lamp Light never came on, but the problem is the LAMP. I spoke to SONY Support on the web and on the phone. All they wanted to do was set up a service call for me. I ordered a replacement bulb from SONY and it fixed the problem. This is a very easy replacement and they send the allen wrench you need to remove the old bulb and install the new bulb. Simple replacement Instructions are included in the box. Thanks to www.FIXYA.com I saved a very expensive service call.

Sounds like you need to replace the bulb.

I too had the on/off on the KDF-60WF655
I removed the bulb, cleaned it and still the same on/off issue. Read more posts and saw the one re the dust on the air flow screen - and YES I had the same. Cleaned it and YES !!! .....up and running just fine .
Will likely order a bulb anyway as I am into year 5 with the original
Thanks for the help

I also had this problem, I removed the lamp, thoroughly cleaned it and then put it back in. Now works fine.

I had the same symptoms. I replaced the lamp and fixed the problem. But then I looked at the old lamp. There was a dust buildup on the screens which cover the cooling holes. I blew off the dust and put the old lamp back in- it worked fine!

We had the same problem and decided that it might be on some sort of timer. We removed the lamp, waited a minute, and put the same lamp back in and the television is working fine now. Maybe the lamp will have to be changed in the near future, but for now all is well.

This happened to me too... What solved it for me was to replace the lamp.

Tips for a great answer:
Five blinks - AKB
circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks
for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function.
Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761
and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on
the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning
up screen A2 slightly.
Usually answered in minutes!
