Question about GE 27957GE1 Phone

1 Answer

Clearing memory We have a phone just like this except it is the GE2 model, i.e., with a cordless phone also; so I assume the corded phones are the same. Problem: I don't know what to do now that the display shows "Memory Full." I've read the manual, but haven't found any directions; and when I asked a salesperson at Future Shop, she did not know beyond suggesting that I delete callers. We are often away from home and depend a lot on people leaving messages; so I really need to know what to do. Thank you very much!

I had an answering machine that did this. If you didn't tell it to delete a message after listening to it it would automatically save all recordings until it filled up and would no longer record. You need to listen to saved messages and delete each one. There may be a way to clear all but I do not know this. If you have a message delete or erase button try holding that down for a few seconds.

GE Wireless Phone Model 27923-GE2-C, need to know how to clear messages. It is full and will not accept new messages.

You can download the user guide for this phone from GE here. It should tell you all you need to know.

Memory full
Try this site.... personally, I could not find your exact model number. Hope this helps somehow.

On my model 8885 uniden phone, when I try to store a # the screen say's memory full. I only have two numbers stored. help

These phones use a "Shared" memory, the CID information and the Phone book information share the same memory chip. If you clean out the caller ID data you should be able to load more numbers in the phone book. Since you have an 8885 I am assuming you have TCX800 or TCX905 handset(s), to clear the CID memory, Follow these steps:

Deleting Information from the Caller ID List
1) When the phone is in standby mode, view the Caller ID
information to be deleted (see "Viewing the Caller ID
List" on page 50).
2) Press the DELETE soft key. De let e C all er ID appears.
3) Press volume up/down to choose Yes.
4) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.

To delete all the CID information follow these steps:

Deleting all Caller ID names/numbers
1) When the phone is in standby mode, press cid.
Press the DELETE soft key. De let e A ll? appears.
2) Press volume up/down to choose Y es.
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone

Phone will not ring

You really need to give details of the phone type, brand and model.

I am assuming you are referring to a mobile phone.
Or is it a landline phone. Corded or cordless?

Again, give details.

GE cordless phone parts

Sorry to tell you, but I had the same problem with my phone except my power cord wouldn't work. This was 2 weeks ago and I still can't find a replacement. I don't know if you have a radioshack in Spain, but that's probably the only place you'll be able to find it. That's where I'm going to look.

Strange functioning Caller ID

This is a long shot but worht asking, have you ever defaulted the system? You should default the system before installation and programming to clear out any bad data. If the system is brand new and the memory battery never turned on previously this would not be an issue.

Cordless phone does not connect

I have the very same problem and it was after storing numbers into the directory, although that may not have anything to do with it.
