All I know is was working before sending camera thru x-ray machine. Tech support want 100.00 just to look at it. might end up costing me 200.00 to get fixed. Camera is 2 years old. Will reinvest my money to a better camera before I will do that.

It is reading high temp error. Even put it on the dock-if it is a battery problem should come on. Still reads high temp error. Tech Support will not help. All they say is need to send it in. Did I mention that I work for Kodak......

X Ray machine would not harm the device. What Hi temp means I do not know- discuss it with the Kodak Support site.

I restate - X-Ray machines do not affect photographic kit film or digital.
Must be some other cause and I am not even aware cameras have such a reading in the systems as to give an indication of 'Hi Temp'
I wonder if you are reading this aright?
Check the manual to see if it is something mentioned therein - bare in mind also that a more comprehensive manual exists usually on the software disk.
But you are correct expensive repairs are a no no,better spend the money of current[better specified] items

If you work for Kodak you perhaps have'internal' ways and means of getting things looked at, perhaps cheaper than usual.
I cant take you any further, than suggesting you get it looked at or replaced.
Cameras like toaster/kettles/media players are largely regarded as disposable- simply because of the way they are manufactured.
How ever there is sometimes a known problem -for example a batch of failing CCD's- that will warrant a free replacement.
So send it it in - if they quote a daft price - dump it and get a replacement -
    At staff discount perchance?

this worked for me: just hit the bottom hard with your palm and the top and sides, not the front or back. After 3 hits, the date screen came back on and it was fixed. This was after the other two solutions I found on this site failed, namely pushing the shutter down before the message comes on or blowing into the camera slot with the memory card removed.

When I turn the camera on the following message appears- high camera temperature, camera will shut off. The camera is a Kodak easyShare Z710

Have Kodak Easyshare V1253 with same, "high temp.," error then shutdown. Kodak batt. showed 25% charged. Charged batt 100% & temp. error went away. Batt. internal shows camera if batt. too hot. Try new batt.

Kodak easy share dx7630

i cam across the ad here a few mins ago and was going to reply cause i was having the same issue, well i took my battery out and charged it thinking that it might have got cold. no that wasnt it so i was mad and i was thinking o what the heck its not working now so i took it and banged it in the palm of my hand on the sides of the camera and the top and bottom not the back or front. this done something to it cause it came back on and asked for date and time stamp lol i might have found a way to fix a head ache after all lol. please if you do this dont hit it to hard for it could mess the lcd screen up. just a few taps on the bottom, top and both sides. and let me know if this works for you also.

As stated X Ray machines should not affect camera or images. Best to check this out with Kodak I am not aware of any other camera to have this sort of warning.
