I have a Jensen JER 422 remote and a Magnavox TV that also does not have any caption button or anything like that on the front of the TV. HELP!!!

Immediately-within one second-push the MENU button on your remote. You should see a User Settings menu screen displayed. Use the arrows keys on the remote to highlight the Closed Caption option and press OK or SELECT on your remote to toggle Enable/Disable. Power on the Set-Top Box to return to watching TV.

Need Closed Captioning

If you have the original remote control, there will be a button marked "CC", and pressing it once, the closed caption funciton will turn OFF, and for an other press, it will re-appear. Now, here you are using a universal remote control. So it will be difficult to make closed caption. Try to enter its function menu by using present remote control, where you can make this funicion OFF, if you could enter into it.

How to turn off the close caption on tv

Hello

Not all TV programs and product

commercials are made with

Closed Caption (CC) information

included. Neither are all Closed

Caption modes (CC1, or CC2) necessarily

being used during the transmission

of a closed caption program.

Refer to your area's TV program listings

for the stations and times of
Closed Caption shows.
To close the close caption display from screen; press "CC" button on the remote control.

A black screen appeared on my TV. I know it has something to do with programing it using the remote control for the Insignia converter box, but I can not figure it out. can somebody help please? Thanks...

First look for the cc button (closed captioning) on the remote control. Press it several times back to back to scroll through the various options. Finally press the button until you see that it has cycled to "off." If this doesn't work then
Press menu and locate where the closed captioning settings are. You will see that you have the closed captioning set up for text. When you go into the closed captioning menu category and select off the black box will go away.

We have tried several times over thelast few months BUT can NOT get the close caption to work....HELP!!!

Hello
There is a button on the remote control of your TV marked {CC}. This button is used to select the closed caption option to On and OFF. Presing it repetedly will change the options as described below.

CC/Stop - This button will select the Closed Caption menu

in the TV mode. Options include the following: OFF, CC1,

CC2, CC3, CC4, TT1, TT2, TT3 or TT4. Additionally, this

button stops the CD, DVD or VCR when the component is
activated with the remote control. If it doesn't work, means that button on your remote control is not working, and the remote control should be replaced. OK.

I have a panasonic TV. direct tv remote for a . while programming the timer, somehow closed captioning got turned on & i after hours of trying to get it turned off, NO LUCK. it's driving me insane!!...

I could do better with a picture of the remote. Closed captioning is usually a multi-press button, that is each press takes you through each of the four types of closed captioning and then off.
You can enable closed captioning on a DVD Recorder, it looks like the TV, but its only on the picture from the DVD Recorder.
If you have a PVR, you could have closed captioning on on that device.
Try tuning off everything else to make sure it IS the TV.
Turn on the menu and find the closed captioning settings and set to OFF.
Press the close captioning button on the remote (If there is one) and press CC repeatedly until it says OFF.
Try and control close captioning, timer and menus with the ORIGINAL remote and not a programmable one.
Programmable remotes are not always completely compatible.

Closed Captioned

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
