Games freezing/ discs not reading

take the Ps2 gaming console to nearest Sony service center the problem is with lens it sometimes run quiet well but sometimes got hang you can do one little thing & try it take any of the Ps2 games which are getting freeze while playing take Colgate toothpaste the regular one take a little bit of it & apply on the game disc rub it on the disc & then clean & wipe out with a clean smooth cloth & clean properly after cleaning the disc will look good neat in condition but please make sure no particle is left after cleaning & now play the disc on Ps2 & see if it still get freeze then their is a problem with console better check it at nearest Sony service center for trouble free working

Sounds like the xbox console needs the laser adjusted or secured as per the other comments. For any discs issues, read on.

Check to see if there are any scratches or laser burn marks on the discs.Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating "Disc Read Error" or something to that effect. I'm not entirely sure what could be causing this problem, but I figured you'd appreciate any input.

If your discs are scratched, this can certainly cause some problems, so make sure that's not a factor.

You said you tried playing without a hard drive. How about formatting the hard drive/memory card? That could possibly do the trick.

The disc lens could be dirty, and for that you can find a lens cleaner. If none of those help, it could be that your hardware is simply damaged. If that's the case, then you'll have to ship it out for repairs.

most likely your ps3 or ya graphics.ya ps3 eye must be realy damaged and can read only those games.i got those same games cod4 and cod5 it could also be tyranch the company who made the realy gory and bloody kills for cod5 ive heard some tyranch games do damage to ya ps3!

it's probaly with your xbox's eye, the eye is an optical reading device that reads the disks

Question: does it play blueray movies? Mine did this, but would still play movies. I found a "Corrupted Data" file in my Games/data folder, and ended up doing a quick restore, under ths System menu. I now have no problems in this area...games start properly every time. You will lose all your saves and any dowloaded content, so back up if you can.

Sounds like you need to get your money back ..the resurfaceing can also do more bad than good
But a little trick lightly rub a crayon over the disk ,,old pantyhose works great rub it off from center out then try your disk ,,have saved many good games that way

have you tried cleaning your Disc.

maybe ur system is corrupt so u might have to contact sony and ask them about it, did ur games work fine before?

disc not scratched? laser maybe dying! how did you clean the laser?
