Keeps asking for a driver

Bought my FE 140 today,got it home thought it would be an easy plug and play,5 hours later im still here, its fine on my husbands computer upstairs,didnt ask for anything, i install the disk,all fine,plugf the camera in to transfer my picture and its asking for a driver?? im totally lost,the USBxp which is on the disk ive tried installing from there,but still to no avail so any ideas,help,advice,would be appriciated thanks Rachael

If the computer asks u for a specific driver, write the name down, and find it on your computer yourself. Hover you mouse over each file (hopefully, it will be less than 3 or 4). When you move the mouse slightly, it should give the exact address of the driver (usually C:/Windows/system/drivers --------or something that looks like that.

Now go back to where it ask you for the driver. Click "Browse" and browse to the exact location of the driver (the location you wrote down). The Best thing to do is not to even type in the location.........just use the "browse" button to get to driver.
Click "OK" or whatever.
if it asks you for another driver, u'll have to do the same.

I had to do this for a printer. Like everyone else, I thought I could just uninstall it and Windows XP would reinstall it. The only thing I can think of if that over time, these drivers may get lost in the system, they could be deleted accidentally, etc.

What system is your computer? XP / 2000 need no drivers, or software from the disk. Me should be OK with no drivers 98/98se do -but there are none available as far as I am aware.
