Driver I've used my Sandisk before but havent used it in a while and when I plug it in it doesnt show up on the computer. I found it in Device Manager, and its saying it hasnt found a driver software, so I go to find it and it says it found a device software, which is MTP Device but it says the device is not configured correctly. So how do I reconfigure it? Its also saying Code 1... but before I findled with it it said Code 18...

Hi,
1. Make sure you Windows Media Player 11 (Goto Help --> About WMP --> v??)
2. If you do not have it, install it from this location: http://www.microsoft.com/mediaplayer   3. Change the Mode on Device: Go into Menu --> Settings --> USB Mode:Auto Detect/MTP/MSC   4. Select MSC and it should work. If it does not try Powercycling your device (turn it off and then turn it on).  5. Try other modes as well.
Keep the device in AutoDetect Mode and follow the instructions below:

i. Connect your Device
ii. Right click on My Computer and select Manage
iii. Select Device Manager
iv. At the right hand side look out for Portable devices and click on the + symbol to display your device
v. Right Click on the device and select Update Drivers
vi. Select 'No, not at this time' and click Next
vii. Select 'Install from a list or specific location' and then click Next
viii. Select 'Don't search, I'll choose the driver to install' and then click Next
ix. Select 'MTP Device' and then click Next. This should install the device and then should be ready for use

And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..

Problem installing driver

I first found that when I plugged my player into my computer it registered it as a MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) device and in turn never showed up as a storage device on my computer. I fixed this by going into my Control Panel -> System Icon -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager button. Clicking on the “System Devices” tab should have “Walkman” or MTP device. Right click on it and go to properties, now before doing anything it should say “Location — —— Location 0 (Walkman)” if not try unplugging the walkman and see if the MTP device you’re looking at is removed from the list, just to make sure it’s the right device we’re looking for.
If you’ve confirmed it’s the Walkman, click on the “Driver tab” and click on “Update Driver…”. Then click on the “Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)” option and click “Next”. Now select the “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install.” and click next. It should now bring up 2 driver choices, one being “MTP Device” and the other “USB Mass Storage Device”. Select the USB option and select next, it will then install your walkman as a USB storage device and after that’s done. It should be a matter of unplugging and plugging the Walkman back in and it should show up on your storage options in “My Computer”"
