TomTom ONE Just installed my TomTom ONE sat nav and initially all was well. The virtual TomTom ONE display on the laptop worked and interacted with the actual model, but now I have the following problems: 1) I can log onto the TomTom home page but when connecting the sat nav via USB the virtual display appears (as expected!) and tells me that I need to download another component in order to use/activate it. Any attempts to download said component inform me that this is not allowed and that I should login. This shouldn't be a problem but I cannot activate either the login globe located in the far left of the screen or activate the option in the drop down menu. It appears that while the system recognises the sat nav it won't allow communication with the main site. As for back up, well I didn't.... Any clues as to how to reset the system? Also, when I do plug the sat nav in, I am greeted by a TomTom E drive directory asking whether I wish to start the sytem through it. The option is 'Do you want Windows to run TomTOm HOME using the programme provided on the device',

Uninstall tomtom home from your computer & restart, then reinstall it from scratch.

This should fix it.

Tomtom won't work

I think that means you do not have a card installed in the sat-nav

Serial number on memory card of TomTom??

Yes it does. Insert the card into a card reader or if you have access to the unit connect it to your computer. Open my computer and open the drive letter of the device. After you have opened the drive look for a ttgo.bif or ttgo.bak file open the file using notepad and it will tell you the device serial number and device unique id. I will tell you this though if their device is working and is not freezing at start up they are not using your sd card. Each sd card has a unique number and will only work with that device.
Hope this answers your question.

Tomtom go 300

The tomtom GO 300 does not need an installation disk. It has firmware ( thats a sort of pre-installed software ) that is put on it at the tomtom factory. If the firmware has become corrupted it can be reinstalled or "updated" by logging on here > http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=17 then click the DOWNLOAD TOMTOM HOME Link. Then connect your tomtom to your computer with a USB lead. Run the TomTom-Home software you downloaded and select "UPDATE MY PRODUCT" . After that , if you don't already have one you will need a valid SD card for your tomtom containing the maps for your country and some other activation codes which you get when you purchase maps from tomtom.

TomTom Nav5 problem: Arm Read memory allocation error

I don't know what it is with those brits but I think they hate us here in the America's. I have TomTom Nav 4 on my wife's T3 and had problems with instillation but could not get support (real person) from tomtom. Did you buy the Nav 5 from Palm's website? I called them and they said that they were making one "JUST" for the LD but didn't know how long that was going to take. If anything if you did buy it from Palm you should try calling them and see if they can help you with it.
