I have a wireless network at home and the PDA can see it. However, I cannot connect to the internet with it. It allows me to connect to my wireless network and it shows an Excellent strength. How do I get it to connect to the Internet?

should my axim be able to connect to my wireless network that runs through an n router of do I need a special card for that

  • ordy213 Oct 03, 2008

I have an unsecure router through a cable modem that my compaq evo N610C detects and connects to with no problem. The problem is that my Dell axim X30 with WIFI & Bluetooth connects to the internet with the USB sync cable, and detects the network router. But once the USB is disconnected the network is still detected, but will not connect without apparenty a dial-up modem.

How do I identify the cable modem?

I have the same problem. It asks for the password and I input it and it says it's not valid. The password is valid, but the Axim can't authenticate it properly.

WITH YOUR WIFI CARD IN GO TO
START ,SETTINGS,CONNECTIONS,THEN TAP ON THE WIRELESS ETHERNET.
YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR NETWORK NAME THERE.
HOLD YOUR STYLUS ON IT FOR 203 SECONDS TO GET THE
CONNECT/REMVE SCEEN.
THEN TAP ON CONNECT.
TRY THAT.

Wireless Connection to the Internet

Hey mate,

So looking at your pda - it has no wlan build in, so you would need to get a wireless adapter for it.

Its pretty simple, install the adapter, plug it in, setup the wireless details of your home and your set to go.

How to connect an iPhone to the Internet

Connecting your iPhone to the internet is an easy process. You just simply use any application on your iPhone which uses internet service.

Your iPhone can either use WiFi or Cellular for internet access.

- A WiFi network is simply a wireless network. You can find them at coffee shops, libraries or even at your house if you a router setup for wireless access.

- Cellular data networks allow Internet connectivity over the cellular network. Check your carrier's network coverage in your area for availability.

When you use an application on your iPhone that requires internet service it will either connect to the last WiFi network used, or if that network is not available it will list all available networks in range. You can simply tap on the network you wish to join and it will connect. If the network requires a password it will show a lock icon. If no Wifi networks are available your iPhone will connect over the cellular data network and fees may apply.

To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range, from the Home screen choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

I am trying to get email access. I am not able to get my email even though my PDA says that it is connecting to my Wi-Fi

First you have to ensure that the problem is not from the internet connection. Try using the PDA and the same wireless connection to open a different site which is different from the email provider. If the other site opens then you are sure that the problem is from either the phone or the email service provider.
On the other hand if it does not open then this means that the recommended settings which are expected for the PDA to work with the wifi have not been properly set to give the PDA internet access. The device might be connected to the wifi but not connected to access the internet from the device. Try setting up the PDA and this time take care of the settings.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Outlook and IE can't find WiFi connection. I can connect to a wireless network, but I can't get IE or MS Outlook download from it.

Hi,

First of all turn the wireless radio off on the laptop, then go to the modem and the wireless router and turn them off for 2 minutes.
Turn them back on and wait a further 2 minutes for them/it to reset.

Now go to your laptop and turn the wireless radio back on again, re-connect to the wireless signal and see if you can access the net. If you can then you should have no further problems retrieving your emails or accessing the internet.

Please feel free to post back if you need to.

Good luck.

I want to connect to my wireless Internet connection

If everything is working as it should. All you have to do is turn onyour Wi-Fi. You will then see a popup asking you if you would like toconnect.

You may need to add a compact flash wireless card:

Wifi not function

My Internet service provider walked me through connecting correctly. I had chosen the WEP security options and should have chosen the WPA-PSK option. Call your service provider and get them to help verify your security access codes.

IPAQ wireless connectivity

always start with the simplest answer first so make sure you have WiFi turned on. Think back, have you changed the wireless security on your router? If so you may need to re-enter the network details or add your iPAQ's MAC address to the access control list on the router. In the bottom right-hand corner of the home screen you should have a small HP Wireless symbol, if you tap it you should get your HP Wireless control panel on screen and can 1: turn WiFi on and off, 2: manually enter the WiFi network details and 3: search for WiFi networks in range.
