HP 5550 Print issue

This printer has always printed the job itself and then sent through 1 extra blank page after every job. Recently it printed the job but the extra blank page jammed. I carefully removed it and it was not torn, but now it will not print. It just seems to spin like there is something in there. I have checked it thoroughly and cannot find any thing in it. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling would fix it? I have already cleared the print que, tried turning it off and I have tried unplugging it.

OK, so how do you reset the paper sensor and realign the tray?

When you removed the jammed paper , the jam paper sensor was not reset or positioned correctly. The reason the machine was sending two pieces of paper thru at once was probably due to the paper feed sensor. A lot of H'Ps do this. Try re-aligning the tray and if you pulled the paper out and heard a grinding noise, the whole feed unit is probably out of time.I would only re-install the software as a last resort, since your problem was caused by hardware, not software. My cannon D680 prints a blank page after every print or copy job. the pages print fine but at the end it always feeds 1 blank page. what can it be?

See if there is an option in your settings to print a "job owner" page after each job. That's not what it's actually called but I had a similar issue with a Canon printer and found that you can have the printer automatically print a page after the job that identifies who sent the job to the printer. It's the last page so it lands on top of a finished job and separates it from other jobs sent to the printer before you have a chance to get yours. If you don't have network identifications associated with users it may just print a blank page as a separator.

Prints blank page

Have you checked the print que
Printer problems can be a real hassle.
From time to time, due to document layout or settings on your computer, in your software of choice, or even on your printer, a blank page may get "printed" with the rest of your document.
Fortunately, this issue is a simple one to troubleshoot.
Click "Print Preview" when you are finished with your document and ready to print.
Observe your document.
If you see an extra, blank page, you have created a second page.
To delete the second page, close Print Preview, go back into the document and eliminate any blank lines in your documents that you may not need.
You may also find an inadvertent page break at the end of your document.
Place your cursor on its symbol and delete it.
Locate the symbol by clicking on the Show Formatting paragraph icon in the toolbar.

Circumvent this "ghost page" if you do not see a second (or additional) blank page in Print Preview.

Specify the number of pages you wish to print, within the Print dialogue box.
This is typically done by selecting the "Print From" option, then entering the page numbers desired.
If your document happens to be ten pages (without, of course, that final blank page), then enter in the "Print From" field the numbers "1-10".
This will print only pages 1 through 10, without an eleventh (blank) page.

Deskjet 5550; Windows 7; Microsoft Office 2007; not printing

That is strange
Try changing the default to a different printer (Microsoft XPS Document Writer) see if it prints to it...

Then (If that works) try switching the 5550 back to default.

If that don't do it, uninstall thee printer, reboot and reinstall the printer.

Laser Jet 5550DTN printing problem

I am reading your question and coming up with 2 different thoughts.
Are you wanting multiple prints of one page, or are you wanting to print out a 5 or 10 page document?
I am not sure how to answer.

HP IIIp prints extra blank pages

HI there make sure that the paper tray guides are fully against the paper also try sending the job through the manual feed to see if you get the same problem. If you do not then it maybe that the paper cassette separation pad is worn and will need replacing. If your model has no rubber pad at the front of the cassette then you will have a metal hold over one corner of the paper make sure that when the paper lifts that the paper sits under the silver (Dog Ear) as this acts as a separator.

Hope this helps
Thanks J

Adjusting printheads - won't stop and keeps printing blank pages

Hi Did you have any print jobs sent to the printer before replacing the printhead. It seems that the printer is trying to print a job and since the usb cable has been disconnected and reconnected the printer is printing blank pages or misc text.
