Purchased a gateway GT5428 with vista

I had a video card (ATI 9250) in my last box and want to put it in my new machine because the game manufacturers recommend that I upgrade so that the game can be played. Since Vista really doesn't have many games that are compatible. With the current setup in my system now, I would really like to install the card or would you advise getting a larger card?

The 9250 is not supported in Vista so you will have to go for the 9550 series or 'X' series, but whether you go for 256MB or 512MB memory pci type chip is upto you and the game requirements. Click here for vista graphics cards by ATI and click on the Vista 32Bit ans see which to use and then look at the details. http://ati.de/support/driver.html

Where download triplex ati 9250 64mb?

Go to website http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx and choose your operating system, then choose radeon in the next window, then choose the 9250 in the last column then click go. It seems some of the systems do not have it listed, but windows xp 32 bit does have it, didnt see any for vista or 7.

I need a solution for my ATI 9250 video card

That card is getting a bit out of date but should be able to handle lighter games like World of Warcraft. I will post a link to the latest drivers for you but if they don't work it's likely you will need to replace the card with a newer more powerful one.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Click the link, then fill in the boxes with your windows version, Radeon, 9250/9000 series. It will take you to the download page for the newest drivers.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

EA Game ''Spore'' - Videocard & Driver Issue

Well, I can solve it but it is somewhat bad news. Basically your video card is not powerful enough. Here are the ATI specs from the EA website;
  • ATI Radeon™ series
  • 9500, 9600, 9800
  • X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
  • X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950
  • 2400, 2600, 2900
  • 3450, 3650, 3850, 3870,
  • 4850

    and here are NVIDIA
  • NVIDIA GeForce series
  • FX 5900, FX 5950
  • 6200, 6500, 6600, 6800,
  • 7200, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950
  • 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800
  • 9600, 9800, GTX 260, GTX 280
I would recommend buying a new video card. You can pick up a NVIDIA 8400 thru 8600 for about $30 or $40 from Frys.com or newegg.com sometimes cheaper with rebate.

They are fairly easy to install.

    Good Luck.

When i try to play the game i get fatal error msg

The error message means that your video card "ATI Visontek Radeon 9250" does not meet the game requirements.

Your video card Pixel Shader Version is 1.4 , and Devil May Cry 4 needs at least Pixel Shader 3.0 or higher support.

To play the game you need to upgrade your video card, to meet the minimum requirements for the game you need a video card like the ATI Radeon X700 or the Nvidia GeForce 6600.

The requirements list for the game as available in the "ReadMe" file for the game Devil May Cry 4 is mentioned below.
