Won't start -Porter Cable Cable 135 PSI, 60 Gal compressor

Today the compressor wouldn't kick on like normal when it got down to 80 PSI. I checked the plug, outlet and the breaker and all are fine. The motor doesn't smell burned at all and the pump is not locked up since the pulley turns freely by hand. The switch points are making contact when the power switch is turned on but nothing happens.
Do you think it is the pessure switch relay? I don't know anything about compressors so forgive me if I have the temenology wrong.
Any help would be great.

ARE THE POINTS BURNT IN THE PRESSURE SWITCH? DO YOU HAVE A LEVER ON THE SWITCH SET TO ON OR AUTO? IF YOU THINK ITS THE SWITCH JUST BYPASS IT AND TIE THE WIRES TOGETHER TO SEE IF IT RUNS. BEWARE YOU HAVE NO PRESSURE PROTECTION EXCEPT POP-OFF VALVE. MOST P.O.S. COMPRESSORS LIKE PORTER CABLE HAVE 3500 RPM MOTORS AND HAVE A THERMAL RELEIF BUTTON ON THEM. JUST PUSH TO RESET. MAKE SURE YOUR WIRNG OR DROPCORD IS LARGE ENOUGH GAUGE. SMALL GAUGE DROPCORDS KILL COMPRESSORS.

Why does the safety valve go off before the pressure switch on a porter cable 80 gal air compressor

The maximum pressure on most small compressors is 10 bar or 1000kpa which is about 145 psi in the old language most safety valves are set to 150 psi. I suggest you get some one to reduce the pressure switch setting. Running a compressor at elevated pressures does not give you any more air. A reasonable pressure for small compressors is 120 psi

The breaker in the motor keeps kicking on and off, is the reset

I'm assuming that you're pushing in the red button to reset it to restart the motor? Check to see what the air pressure is when the compressor shuts off. If it's higher that rated, then perhaps lowering the pressure will prevent the motor overload. If you have an amp meter, check the amp reading and compare it to the amp rating on the motor nameplate.

I received no manual for my 60 gal. Porter Cabel air compressor (model #VT627504AJ) and I need to know the spec. for wiring.

being that its 220 on the compressor Is where I assume you are wanting to know where the wires go? There should be a terminal strip or box that has a terminal strip by each terminal there should be L1 L2 and either ground or neutral. The two hot wires one each go to the Line terminals and the ground or neutral to marked terminal.

Compressor blows off, does not maintain pressure

Hi there. This is normal. The pressure is set to stop at around 120-140 PSI as a safety measure. It probably kicks in again around 80 PSI so as to remain pressurized between 80 and 140 PSI. Since most air tools operate in this range, it is ok for the compressor to maintain pressure in that range. You do not want to adjust the maximum pressure safety release valve as it could be extremely dangerous as certain components in the compressor may only be rated up to 140 PSI or slightly higher before they fail or blow apart.
