Failure of radio to turn on

My S350 operated just fine for three years. Then it began turning itself off at random intervals. I began switching it back on but that was annoying. Just now it has become useless. It plays the selected station momentarily just after I switch it on. But then, almost instantly, it turns itself off. Suggestions? Specious

    I can't shut the sleep timer off, when I toggle down the power sleep switch

    there is no off symbol.

    Ditto. The red start switch turns the radio on for about one second, then the radio shuts down and the battery status symbol flashes with no status bars in the symbol. The radio works in AM only. No FM.

The solution to a nonworking Grundig S350 seems to be to junk it. My seller, Radio Shack, claimed to know of no one who could fix it nor had any solution. Your solution, to identify the overheating part and replace it is way beyond my expertise and beyond the people at my Radio Shack. I asked them. Hey, the S350 is made in China. We should always be sure to check where things are made before we buy them. Ex Grundig owner

It sounds like a component on the circuit board is heating up. Open the radio up and check if anything is overheating, if so replace the defective part.

My Grundig S350 won't turn on. I have replaced the batteries and hit the reset button and still nothing. Please help.
Its Deluxe Version the S350 DL can use two types of batteries: D-size or AA. Inside the battery compartment there is a switch to select the size in use. If you use the AA sie batteries, they will not hold in their locations unless you lower a flap and secure them.
Have you tried to power the radio with the adaptor?

I have used my Grundig S350 radio almost daily, for the past 6-7 years. I went on vacation for 10 days. When I returned home, I turned on the power, lights light up, etc., but no sound...no matter how...

Its microcomputer chip may have hanged. Just make a reset ans see whether it helps you. It must help you, i"m sure. To reset it;

S350 incorporates with micro computer chip (the component that

controls how the radio operates). If the radio has been subjected to

abnormal environmental conditions, the micro computer chip may
hang up and the following symptoms may appear

The display shows nothing and the radio cannot be turned on by
pressing POWER & SLEEP button.

The display shows random characters or does not work properly

although the radio can receive stations normally.

In these cases, you might need to reset the radio. To reset the

S350, unplug the external adaptor (if one is being used) and

remove the batteries from the battery compartment. Insert a

pointed object, such as straightened paper clip, into the RESET hole

on the right, front side of the radio and gently press and release the

button inside the hole. Then plug in the AC adaptor or reinstall the
batteries
OK.

It could be that yours is configured with a sleep timer set to 01 minute, 10 or 15. You need to set the timer for a longer period. Thus we turn it on by pressing the Power/Sleep button, read the timer length then press again. Keep making short presses: The timer will cycle through all preset sleep timer durations. Select the length you want.

My 2002 chevy malibu's radio seems to be shorting out, the radio will work fine but randomly the sound shuts off the radio still shows the radio station and even says which artist is playing but there...
I'd suggest using the balance and fade controls to cut out each speaker one by one. to possibly determine if you have shorted speaker or speaker wiring. As far as the turn signal clicking noise, the hazard switch is the actual flasher unit for the turn signals, and could be the culprit, but the most likely cause is the turn signal switch itself. It is usually caused by corrosion across the contacts, which can be cleaned out fairly easily, but more typically, the switch is just replaced

Go to charge it turns off and doesn't turn on again
Kyocera K10 Chronic Problem. It Shuts Off Unintentionally, Automatically.

There is an inherent problem in the K10 cell phone and VirginMobile knows it. They will automatically shut off several times a day at random intervals.

They will send a 'refurbished' replacement free of charge. Most of these are phones customers sent back for the same problem. They give it a quick test and then send it along as a replacement to the next customer.

After the third ( that's right, count 'em, THREE) replacement phones, they finally sent me an Kyocera Oyster phone as a replacement.

I had my original phone 2 years before the problem began. I read somewhere that it is a virus afflicting the K10. Virgin Mobile will not officially acknowledge th problem but their some of thier customer service reps will. Have this problem? Contact VM.

Grundig S350 digital display
The radio is analog with a digital display. Mine displays off all the time, you can try turning the other switches on it just slightly. Just move them a tiny amount. This seems to correct my problems. Heat is also another factor with these things, they drift all over the place.
