Poor reception Our Mitsubishi CS-40505 is getting poor reception on cable for channels 2 through 6 only. We attached the cable to a smaller tv and reception was ok. Is there something wrong with the TV or the cable? We just bought the tv used from a friend and she said it worked fine at her house. Has this ever been a problem for anyone else? Thanks for any info. Also, does anyone know how much this model weighs? My husband is worried it's too heavy for the swivel stand I wanted to put it on. Thanks again. Raina

It worked...the vcr tuner took over, however I have to play the the DVD input instead of VCR input which I thought was strange and just happened onto by accident. I suppose I will keep it although I was told by a local repairman that parts are no longer available for this TV.

It sounds like a problem with the tuner in the TV set. Hook up a VCR through the video inputs and hook the cable through the VCR and if the picture is still snowy, the problem is the cable. If the picture is clear, the problem is the tuner in the TV set. If you wanted, you could simply leave the VCR attached to the TV set and change cable channels through the VCR, or have the TV serviced. Good Luck

If you really wanted to get a tuner for this TV set, you could go to ptscorp.com and get the phone number and call them. If they did not have a replacement tuner for your set, the tuner in your TV set would have to be taken out and sent in to them for overhaul.

I have a Mitsubishi cs-40505 tv. It will not turn on. A clicking noise is heard after pushing the power button then again a few seconds later. Tv does eventually turn on after pressing power bu.tton...

The fault is with its main board. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Mitsubishi. I can't predict about how much you have to spend. It will depend upon the fault, and the sost of component/s have to be replaced.
Anyway, be sure, this is not an easy work, for a user to do.

I need to program my remote, it is a ge universal and my mitsubishi is model cs-40505

Hello

Three digit universal remote codes for Mitsubihsi are:-

004/ 005/ 009/ 022/ 046/ 081/ 089/ 132/ 133/ 180

Four digit universal remote code for Mitsubishi are:-

0005 0151 0051 0004 0009 0254 0022 0141 0180

Switch OFF and ON your TV with its front panel power switch, [NOT BY THE REMOTE HANSET] before trying each code

Proceedings

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
OK.
