Is it disabled? Have you Upgraded the OS recently? Did it work before the upgrade? Open Device Manager, is it there?

UNABLE TO FIND THE RELASE TO OPEN LID ON NEW TOSHIBA TECRA A10-S3551. HOW DO I OPEN LID?

By looking at this model on Toshiba's website there does not appear to be any latch to open the laptop. It should just pull open. Most laptops are now using lids that are held closed by magnets or very stiff hinges or in some cases, spring type hinges.

I have a Toshiba Tecra M8 and the touchpad stopped working. I can still use a USB mouse, but i've tried the FN F9 key to make sure that the touchpad is enabled but it still isn't working. Are there drivers...

Check in the device manager and see if the touchpad is listed under pointing devices. If it is not there try add hardware and see if it detects the hardware. If it is there check to see if it says device is working properly. Sometimes touchpads require software to operate properly so check and see if software was uninstalled. You can also download the drivers/software from Toshiba, try removing the touchpad in the device manager and then re-booting the computer. When windows re-boots it should start installing new hardware found. Use the driver/software you downloaded from Toshiba. If none of these work your touchpad may be bad.
